Yoga Poses for Any Age

I can remember attending my 1st yoga class in September 2010. Like many I was scared to

death. “What was I thinking that I could do yoga at the age of 50?” So I started trolling the

internet for yoga over 50. And there she was, a 90-year-old lady was not only doing yoga, she

was teaching a class to college students! I thought WOW, there goes my excuses.

So, when people come to me and say I can’t do yoga or I’m too old for yoga. I always tell

them “You just haven’t found the right type of yoga.” With so many yoga poses, practices and

modifications. Don’t let what I call the miracle poses (headstand, backbend and etc.) fool you

into not doing yoga. These individuals like myself will tell you, we all started out with the same

fears. We all came to the practice to find something bigger that ourselves, Whole-ness within.

This section will give you a look into the different types of “Yoga Poses.” I tell all my students

the same thing I was told in 2010, when I first started by yoga practice. “Take what you want,

leave what you don’t what.” It’s your practice, your body honor it!
